About CATS
California Academy on Transition Studies (CATS), founded April 21, 1997, to bring together the resources of the global community in order to create positive and successful education outcomes.
The mission of CATS is...
to serve young adults and their families to achieve successful transition from childhood to adulthood.
to create dynamic partnerships among education, business, community, and social services in the transition process.
to train transition service professionals.
to provide technical assistance to professionals in the filed of transition.
to conduct research related to policy-making and program development.
In accord with federal mandates, CATS is dedicated to meeting the needs of young adults from diverse backgrounds whose transition challenges are not being successfully addressed. Those federal mandates include:
